Landscapes

I am a recent convert to the joys of plein air painting and it has quickly become my summertime passion. There is nothing quite as enjoyable as being out in nature and seeing all the true colors that you can only imagine when you paint inside. Sunlight provides perfect lighting, especially before 10:00 am and after 4:00 pm. Nature is a wonderful teacher; the light will never appear quite the same way from one day to the next so the subject matter is always new and interesting. I take many pictures with my digital camera while I am out painting so that I can analyze the differences between what the camera sees and what I know was really there. This process allows me to paint more realistic studio paintings when I am stuck inside during the winter.

I really can’t keep my landscapes in stock- they are sold almost as quickly as I paint them. If you have a special interest in having your own property or favorite place painted email me and I would be happy to take a look and see if your source material could be made into a good painting.
