NORA SALLOWS paints realistic yet dramatic portraits of people, animals and everyday life. Although her first love is portraiture, she is equally comfortable painting pets, landscapes and flowers. A graduate of Terra College, she holds a degree in Graphic Communications and worked in the printing industry for more than 15 years before settling in Wauseon 12 years ago. Nora has taken a few workshops but has taught herself most of what she knows about art and painting through trial and error. She paints in oil, pastels and watercolor and prefers to paint from life rather than photos. She is a member of the Oil Painters of America, the Hyter Portrait Group, the Toledo Artists Club and the organization of Worldwide Women Artists Online.
Her paintings and drawings have won numerous awards, most recently in the juried fine art program at the Jacksonville Florida Agricultural Expo, where she received Best in Show in the Professional Division. She was recently honored with a solo exhibition when she was chosen Artist of the Month for November 2007 by the Imagine Foundation of Jacksonville, IL.

Every painting and print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, which is hand-signed by the artist. Each painting and print is also signed. Some paintings are framed. Others are unframed while many paintings are painted on gallery wrap canvas, making framing optional. If you're not sure please ask. Professional framing is available for an additional charge and I do have low-cost suppliers and I'm happy to share the savings with you. Professional quality Giclee prints are available on request and can usually be shipped in 7-10 days.
