Wauseon Ohio artist Nora
Sallows paints familiar pieces of everyday life and presents them to us colored
by her own unique vision. Her pieces are romantic, sometimes idealized,
renditions of how she wishes the world really was. Her portraits present a
sympathetic yet realistic view of the subject. The artist’s plein air
landscapes almost always offer the viewer an escape path to another world.
Because she is involved in a rescue dog organization and animal rights work, her
realistic depictions of animals include some of her best work.
A graduate of Terra College,
Nora has a degree in Graphic Communications and worked in the printing industry
for more than 15 years before settling in Wauseon, Ohio in 1996. She
paints in oil, pastel and watercolor and prefers to paint from life whenever
possible. She has taken workshops with David Buckley Good (Landscape in oils)
and Judith Carducci (Portraiture). Nora also teaches oil and acrylic workshops
on a regular basis.
Nora is a member of the Oil Painters of America, the Hyter Portrait Group, the Ohio Plien Air Society, the Black Swamp Art Guild, the Toledo Artists Club and the Worldwide Women Artists Online.
Her paintings and drawings have won numerous awards. She is represented by Main Street Art & Glass of Delta, Ohio and Wind River Gallery in Milford, MI and sells her work on internet auction sites and through her personal website:Every painting and print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, which is hand-signed by the artist. Each painting and print is also signed. Some paintings are framed. Others are unframed while many paintings are painted on gallery wrap canvas, making framing optional. If you're not sure please ask. Professional framing is available for an additional charge and I do have low-cost suppliers and I'm happy to share the savings with you. Professional quality Giclee prints are available on request and can usually be shipped in 7-10 days.
