Nora specializes in portraits and painting people in unique and life-changing moments. Her representational paintings of people and children are unusually sensitive and eye-catching. She does not trace the image onto canvas, preferring instead to use what she knows about the quality of paint and the structure of bones to make your photo or silverprint come to life.

"I paint from life daily and with a live model at least three times a month, so I am very familiar with skin tones and recreating realistic light as it falls across forms. There is not a great deal of difference between the paintings I do from life and those I paint using photographs. The most important quality I want to see when I am finished is a sense of emotion. Does the painting tell us something about the nature of the subject's personality? If it does, I think it's a successful work." _{NORA SALLOWS}
